BIOGRAPHY OF FRANK BAUM
He was born on May 15, 1856 in Chittenango, New York.
American Narrator. Dedicated to journalism since 1880, had great popular with his Father Goose success in 1889 and a series of books about the wonderful land of Oz, including The Wonderful Wizard of Oz in 1900 and Ozna of Oz in 1907.
He worked in the family oil business and then as a farmer, artist, runner oil, editor and journalist.
After traveling through Europe, he settled in Pasadena, California (1902), where he writes 13 books in the line from the wizard of Oz and other stories for children. He used various pseudonyms such as Schuyler Staunton, Laura Bancroft, Captain Hugh Fitzgerald, Suzanne Metcalfe, Floyd Akens, and Edith Van Dyne.

THE BOOK AND THE FILM
The wizard of Ozes an impressive series (consisting of fourteen books that were authentic bestsellers) is a fairy tale whose characters and adventures enliven an ideal agricultural America.
Despite the success of sales that the novel garnered at the time, particularly among the children of Great Britain, the wizard of Oz is a title that is currently less associated with the novel by L. Frank Baum that to its film adaptation, made in 1939 by Victor Fleming. The history of film, the wizard of Oz classic exalted actress protagonist, Judy Garland, whose interpretation of the song Over the Rainbow is one of the iconic moments of the musical genre.
The differences between the film and the novel are striking. The film begins with the episode of a woman who seeks to stay with the dog Toto because it has attacked it, while the novel begins with the tornado that Dorothy Gale and her little dog to a strange country. Numerous adventures, such as that of the Queen of the mice, the porcelain country, of forest animals or the country of tadpoles were suppressed in film production. However, remained the episodes essential, like the scarecrow, lion or the Tin Woodman.
Summary about the wizard of oz.
It begins with a girl called dorothy was
in her house in Kansas when a terrible ciclon attack her house and transport
her to the land of oz there she saw a woman trapped below the house, it was the
bad witch of the west then a lot of people said:¨ you kill her, you kill her¨,
and then a weird woman appears and she said that it was a dark witch, one of
two: the witch of the east and the witch of the west.
Dorothy said how can she get back to
Kansas and with her aunt and uncle.the good witch of the south said that she
only can get back, with telling her wish to the wizard of oz, she said that the
only way to get there is following the yellow road that guides you to the
emerald city in where the wizard of oz lives.
In her trip, she found three people whom
want to ask wishes too. The first person was a scarecrow who wants mind because
he said that he didn´t has a mind . next she found a cowardly lion who asks to
be brave. And finally she found the tin man who needs a heart to love people.
When they arrived to the emerald city they got to wait hte wizard of oz and if
he is available. When finally they talk with him he said that if they want to
achieve their wishes they must kill the bad witch of te east. Dorothy and her
friends move to accomplished the mission. When dorothy find the witch she think
in throwing wáter to her so she will burn.
Finally when she killed her, they go to
the emerald city to see the wizard of oz ut when they arrived they only find an
old man, when dorothy see him they talk about how they will get out of there
but first of all he have to realice their wishes.
To the scarecrow he put a brain, now he
can think.
To the cowardly lion he give him a brave
poison, now he is brave.
To the tin man he put him a tin heat, now
he can feel.
And to dorothy he give her a baloon in
where he came, and it will be her scape way.
When dorothy get back to Kansas she see
her aunt and uncle and she tell them her adventure.
